National Awareness

We know, you know, they know!

SB Market 2017

Creating an awareness at a national level takes the cooperation of the network, the credit union and the members.  Together they create an awareness that cultivates a successful national shared branching network in line with the industry’s mission of ‘people helping people’ and the cooperative nature of credit unions.   Regional networks across the United States work with their participating credit unions providing them marketing materials, both physical and electronic, as well as training materials and videos for their members.  Each participating credit union is encouraged to promote shared branching.

Evidence of its success is based on a simple fact that members use shared branching.  Shared branching transaction volume continues to grow year over year both in Florida as well as nationally.  Members continue to expect their credit union to provide them convenient ways to transact.  Shared branching provides the convenience of a branch nearby whether they’re near home, work, school or traveling.

People young and old still appreciate the convenience of being able to walk into a branch and work with someone in person.  When participating in shared branching through Shared Services for Credit Unions the credit union becomes part of the national CO-OP shared branching network giving their members access to nearly 5,500 credit union branches for access in all 50 states, as well as Puerto Rico, Guam, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Italy and Germany.  The national network logo, advertised by every credit union, creates a national stamp every participating credit union member has learned to recognize.

Our Logo Evolution

Be sure to view Q & A's

Florida Credit Union Shared Services, Inc. set out in 1995 to be the Florida network for the national Credit Union Service Corporation (CUSC).  As with other regional shared branching networks, in the interest of the national brand identity, we developed branding using the CUSC ‘swirl’ doing business as name of, Credit Union Service Centers of Florida.

In 2013, CO-OP Financial Services, majority owner of CUSC, announced their intention to change the national ‘swirl’ to the CO-OP brand.  This change was to take affect December 31, 2014 requiring all credit unions to update their window and branch signage, marketing collateral, transaction receipts, etc.  Need any assistance?  Feel free to Contact Us.

Our History

Where we started

Florida Credit Union Shared Services (FCUSS), Inc. was incorporated in 1992.  The network began operations in 1995 with the goal to enhance the convenience, delivery and accessibility of financial services for credit union members through a state-wide shared services network as well as providing a gateway to the national network.  In its 1st year FCUSS processed more than 40,000 transactions with 30 participating credit unions.

How much we’ve grown

The Florida Network is owned by 34 credit union shareholders governed by a 9 member Board of Directors.  In its 23st year, 2015, SS4CU processed more than 10.8 million transactions with 357 branch locations and 70 participating credit unions in 120 cities within the state of Florida.  This past year was another of growth despite the credit union industry challenges.

Our way of keeping up with a changing landscape

SHARED SERVICES FOR CREDIT UNIONS is FCUSS’ new dba name starting January 1st, 2015.  We’ve changed our name in order to enhance our position in the industry.  Our primary product will continue to be shared branching.  Our top goal is to provide our participants, value products and services that help meet their member’s financial needs.

Through Shared Services for Credit Unions, a participant credit union can serve their members financial service needs where they live, work or travel.  By sharing branches among participating credit unions, members can conveniently enjoy "once a member - always a member."  Through national connectivity, members can complete transactions as if it were their own branch at nearly 5,500 branches for access in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Italy and Germany.  Use this link to find a shared branch location near you.

Goal

To create a national high-tech, high-touch network connecting all credit union locations.

Mission Statement

Enable credit unions to provide member access anytime, anywhere, anyhow and to enhance shareholder value.

Vision Statement

A world where every member is welcomed and served at every credit union facility, everywhere.

About Us

SS4CU is the Florida credit union gateway to the national shared branch network, CO-OP Shared Branch. began as Florida Credit Union Shared Services, Inc. in 1992.  We partnered with the national network in 1995, then Credit Union Service Corporation’s (CUSC), in the DBA name of Credit Union Service Centers of Florida (CUSCFL).  Like many other regional shared branching networks, we developed branding using the CUSC ‘swirl’ and Credit Union Service Centers of Florida.  For more information about our branding please read ‘Our Logo Evolution’.

The Florida network has grown leaps and bounds since our 1st transaction in 1995.

Shared Services for Credit Unions, SS4CU, is a CUSO owned by 33 stockholders.  We have 68 credit union and service center participants.  A participant has the option of Issuing Only or total participation of Issuing and Acquiring.  Issuing is when your credit union’s members utilize the shared branch network, providing a convenience of access to credit union branches nationwide, DC, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Guam, Puerto Rico and Canada.  Issuing and Acquiring is an additional step of your credit union adding branches to the shared branching network for their peer credit union’s members to utilize.

Giving back

SS4CU believes in giving back to our participants.  We want our credit unions to succeed, which is why we are committed to providing an improved toolbox of excellent products & services.  Year over year, as we grow, we have given back to our participating credit unions, a patronage rebate, so that they can invest in future products and services for their members.  Since inception, our stockholders and participants have received a more than $8.1 million in patronage rebates and dividends.  We’re here to help you grow!

There is a difference

SS4CU is the Florida credit union gateway to the national shared branch network, CO-OP Shared Branch.  Shared branching is the credit union industry’s major differentiator from banks.  Banks have to build or buy branches.  Credit Unions have the opportunity to collaborate their branches to build the largest network of branches the banking industry has ever seen.  Today the shared branching network provides credit union members around the nation with more than 5,500 physical branches, over 200 Self-Service Credit Union owned ATMs/kiosks (Shared Branch Express units) and a mobile app for anywhere shared branching.

Credit unions count on us to provide their members convenient shared branching access and the effective and accurate tools to better service their members needs.
