IDCheck Shared Branch Services is an identity and authentication validation solution designed specifically for shared branching credit unions and their members. Offered by Co-op Shared Branch, this cloud-based service allows members to verify their identity using their smart device by scanning a QR code or visiting a secure URL provided by Co-op Shared Branch (verify.coop.org).
Once directed to the verification site, members are guided through a process where they may be asked to provide specific information, such as a government-issued ID (e.g., driver’s license) and a live photo (selfie). This information enables credit unions to verify the member’s identity securely and efficiently using advanced technologies.
Predictive Document Verification (DocV)
As part of the IDCheck service, Predictive Document Verification (DocV) plays a critical role in confirming the authenticity of submitted documents and the identity of the individual. DocV works by:
- Verifying the legitimacy of the government-issued ID.
- Comparing the Personal Identifiable Information (PII) extracted from the ID against the information entered by the member.
- Performing facial biometric analysis to match the ID headshot to the member’s submitted selfie.
This verification process is powered by Socure’s advanced machine learning and AI-driven platform. Socure has developed hundreds of proprietary features to enhance accuracy, including:
- Training models on the specifications of every supported document type.
- Detecting deepfakes and other forms of synthetic identity fraud that may not be detectable to the human eye.
- Verifying physical characteristics of IDs, such as headshot placement, hologram locations, font styles and sizes, and encryption features found on the back of documents.
Together, these technologies provide credit unions with a reliable, secure, and efficient tool to validate identity and reduce fraud in shared branch interactions
